Valencia served as a teacher and participant of FCM. With several years of experience as a youth leader and community organizer, she developed a love for young people. Valencia attended Saint Xavier University, graduating Magna Cum Lade with her Bachelors in Accounting. She went on to attend DePaul University and graduated with her Masters in Accounting & Advisory Services. Valencia took on the role of Executive Director in 2019, overseeing the Community Youth Employment Program (CYEP) that hired over 300 youth. Valencia's primary goal for Family Cares (AFC) Mission is to be a safe haven and a place to cultivate leaders that will impact their community. It is her belief that young people just need a place for their individual gifts to be realized.
